Play Trivia at Home with This Full Game from Stage Time Trivia

We just dropped a new bonus episode with our friend Ryan Budds, and it’s a full trivia night you can play at home. Ryan’s a comedian and trivia host who runs Trivia With Budds, and he put together seven complete rounds for us.

What You’re Getting

This isn’t just random questions thrown together. It’s an actual trivia night like you’d play at a bar, but you can do it from your couch. The episode runs about an hour, and the first trivia question kicks in at 2:13 if you want to skip ahead.

Ryan starts things off with a fact of the day about Lake Mead being the deadliest national park in the US, which honestly caught us off guard. Then you get into the meat of it with different types of rounds. There’s a Triple Connections round where you figure out what softball, vampire, and baseball have in common. Good luck with that one.

You can grab the episode on Apple Podcasts right here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bonus-episode-7-rounds-from-stage-time-trivia/id1139115219?i=1000723209207

How to Actually Use This

The smart move is to grab some friends, queue up the episode, and have everyone write down their answers as you go. Ryan gives you time between questions, so you don’t need to keep pausing. If you want to get fancy, Stage Time Trivia has downloadable answer sheets and scorecards on their site.

Some people play it straight through like a regular trivia night. Others pause between rounds to grab drinks or food. A few folks have told us they use it for date night when they can’t think of anything else to do. Whatever works.

The Ryan Budds Connection

If you don’t know Ryan, he’s been doing trivia for years. He runs regular trivia nights at bars and venues, plus private events for companies and fundraisers. The guy knows how to write questions that are challenging but not impossible, which is harder than it sounds.

He’s also got a whole setup if you want more trivia content. There’s a Patreon where you can listen ad-free for a dollar a month, and he sells digital trivia games on Etsy if you need something right away for a party. He’ll even create custom episodes for birthdays or whatever if you email him at ryanbudds@gmail.com.

Why This Works

Look, we’ve all tried to run trivia nights ourselves. You spend hours googling questions, arguing about whether answers are right, and by round three everyone’s on their phones. Having a host like Ryan run it through the podcast changes everything. He keeps the pace moving, makes jokes between questions, and handles all the heavy lifting.

The production value is solid too. Ryan’s got proper intro music from Frawsty on SoundCloud and bed music licensed from Kevin MacLeod. It feels like an actual show, not just someone reading questions into their phone.

Other Stuff to Know

If you like this episode, Ryan does regular trivia content on his channels. He’s on Instagram @ryanbudds and Facebook at Facebook.com/TriviaWithBudds. The main website is TriviaWithBudds.com where you can book him for events or just see what else he’s got going on.

Stage Time Trivia, where this collaboration came from, is at www.StageTimeTrivia.com. They’ve got more downloadable games and printables if you’re into that.

Bottom Line

We had a blast recording this with Ryan, and honestly, it’s way easier than trying to organize trivia yourself. Seven rounds, about an hour of entertainment, and you can replay it whenever you want. Grab some people, pour some drinks, and give it a shot. Worst case, you learn that Lake Mead is apparently super dangerous.

The episode’s live now on Apple Podcasts and wherever else you get your podcasts. Just search for “Trivia With Budds” or use the direct link above. Let us know how you do – we’re curious if anyone can figure out that vampire connection without cheating.
